Black-Type Analysis: Ballydoyle Bandwagon Rolls On To ParisLongchamp

Puerto Rico | Scoop Dyga

Sunday, ParisLongchamp, France, post time: 15:50, EMIRATES POULE D'ESSAI DES POULAINS-G1, €650,000, 3yo, c, 8fT

Field: Khovikhov (Fr) (Al Wukair {Ire}), Rayif (Ire) (Sea The Moon {Ger}), Hankelow (Ire) (Night Of Thunder {Ire}), Segall (Ire) (Sottsass {Fr}), Komorebi (Ire) (Pinatubo {Ire}), Mijas (Fr) (Karakontie {Jpn}), Puerto Rico (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), Imperior (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), Good Bye Manu (Ire) (Almanzor {Fr}), Dorset (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), Elastic (Fr) (Lope De Vega {Ire}), Nighttime (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), Wootton Centurion (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}).

TDN Analysis: Coolmore's G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and G1 Criterium International hero Puerto Rico, who is joined by his Aidan O'Brien stablemate and TDN Rising Star Dorset, will be favoured to bring home a seventh edition for the trainer on seasonal return. Rivals include Lagardere runner-up Nighttime, who is back for another swing at Puerto Rico, while the Francis Graffard-conditioned Lagardere third Rayif is another for the shortlist. The former defeated Godolphin's Komorebi in September's G3 Prix La Rochette, but was a short-neck behind that foe when both made their seasonal debut in last month's G3 Prix de Fontainebleau. Komorebi's Andre Fabre-trained stablemate and TDN Rising Star Segall regained the winning thread in last month's G3 Prix La Force and drops back to a mile, while Britain's lone contender is the Karl Burke-trained G3 Autumn Stakes winner Hankelow. The unexposed TDN Rising Star Wootton Centurion heads postward with a perfect two-for-two palmares and should not be discounted. [Sean Cronin].

Sunday, ParisLongchamp, France, post time: 16:25, EMIRATES POULE D'ESSAI DES POULICHES-G1, €550,000, 3yo, f, 8fT

Field: Ymeeelih (Fr) (Victor Ludorum {GB}), Narissa (Ire) (Siyouni {Fr}), Half Sovereign (Fr) (Ten Sovereigns {Ire}), Isle Of Fernandez (GB) (Lope Y Fernandez {Ire}), Baklawa (Fr) (Stunning Spirit {GB}), Showna (Fr) (Kendargent {Fr}), Radiant (Fr) (City Light {Fr}), Fashion City (Fr) (City Light {Fr}), Anashkaya (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), Maintain (GB) (Kingman {GB}), Venosa (Gun Runner), The Last Dance (Fr) (Iffraaj {GB}), Diamond Necklace (Ire) (St Mark's Basilica {Fr}), Zanthos (Fr) (Sioux Nation), Green Spirit (Kingman {GB}).

TDN Analysis: Aidan O'Brien has endured a period in the wilderness since Rose Gypsy became his first and only winner in 2001 and the Ballydoyle conditioner has the undefeated G1 Prix Marcel Boussac heroine and TDN Rising Star Diamond Necklace making her seasonal debut. She is joined by the yard's five-race maiden Venosa, while Marcel Boussac placegetters Green Spirit and Narissa renew rivalry having run fourth and second, respectively, in last month's G3 Prix de la Grotte. Others with chances include G3 Prix Imprudence winner and supplementary entry Showna, G2 Rockfel Stakes victrix and TDN Rising Star Zanthos and the unbeaten TDN Rising Star The Last Dance. [Sean Cronin].

Sunday, ParisLongchamp, France, post time: 13:50, CAMILLE PISSARRO COOLMORE PRIX SAINT-ALARY-G2, €119,000, 3yo, f, 10fT

Field: Concorde Agreement (Fr) (Persian King {Ire}), Evita (Fr) (Persian King {Ire}), Gilded Prize (GB) (Frankel {GB}), Composing (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), Lapotheose (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), Habibi (Fr) (Le Brivido {Fr}).

TDN Analysis: This is another fascinating affair with three unbeaten fillies set to lock horns in this stepping stone to next month's G1 Prix de Diane. TDN Rising Star Gilded Prize takes on impressive G3 Prix Vanteaux winner Concorde Agreement and the three-for-three Lapotheose in a mouthwatering renewal. TDN Rising Star Evita (Persian King) followed up an impressive five-length debut victory at Chantilly in September with a narrow defeat back there last month and is in the mix along with last term's G2 Debutante Stakes and G3 Silver Flash victrix Composing. The latter's trainer, Aidan O'Brien, has yet to win this contest, while Jean-Claude Rouget has six triumphs in the bag. He is just two shy of Andre Fabre's record eight and relies on Listed Prix Rose de Mai second Habibi this time around. [Sean Cronin].

Sunday, Hoppegarten, Germany, post time: 16:50, COMER GROUP INTERNATIONAL 55TH OLEANDER-RENNEN-G2, €130,000, 4yo/up, 16fT

Field: Lordano (Ger) (Adlerflug {Ger}), Enea (Fr) (Pinatubo {Ire}), Kampfer (Ger) (Protectionist {Ger}), Moon Above (Ire) (Green Moon {Ire}), Narrativo (Ger) (Adlerflug {Ger}), Naughty Peter (Cze) (Tai Chi {Ger}), Prydwen (Ire) (Camelot {GB}), Sea Celia's Star (Ire) (Raa Atoll {GB}), Waldadler (Ger) (Adlerflug {Ger}), May It Be (Ire) (Waldgeist {GB}), Techno Beat (Ger) (Best Solution {Ire}).

TDN Analysis: Six-time pattern-race winner Lordano is the leading German stayer of recent times and, coming back off a Listed triumph on seasonal return last month, sets a high standard in this marathon. Dangers include the dual Group 1-placed fellow Gestut Ittlingen homebred Narrativo, who was last seen running second in the Listed Altano-Rennen five weeks ago. Last year's third Waldadler, who also posted a fourth in the G1 Irish St Leger, was one spot behind Narrativo when they met in early April and is another worthy of consideration. The Comer barn won this in 2019 with Raa Atoll and his hitherto unraced four-year-old son Sea Celia's Star is accompanied by the similarly unraced Luke Comer Jr stablemate Moon Above. [Sean Cronin].

Sunday, Leopardstown, post time: 15:40, CASHEL PALACE HOTEL DERBY TRIAL STAKES-G3, €60,000, 3yo, 10fT

Field: Endorsement (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), James J Braddock (GB) (Zarak {Fr}), Pierre Bonnard (Ire) (Camelot {GB}), Shaihaan (Ire) (Night Of Thunder {Ire}), Straight Up (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}).

TDN Analysis: Long-time ante-post Derby favourite Pierre Bonnard lost that mantle with a tame effort in the Ballysax and after stablemates Benvenuto Cellini and Constitution River strutted their stuff on the Roodee it's time to step back up to the plate. Anything other than a comfortable win in this O'Brien-dominated Derby prep will see him fall down the Ballydoyle pecking order and we need to see the colt that brushed aside Endorsement in the Zetland once again. Second to Pierre Bonnard at Dundalk in August, Shaihaan returned to break his maiden in style at the Curragh in March and could be progressing. [Tom Frary].

Sunday, ParisLongchamp, France, post time: 12:40, PRIX DE SAINT-GEORGES-G3, €73,200, 3yo/up, 5fT

Field: Estepona (Fr) (Mehmas {Ire}), Ponntos (Ire) (Power {GB}), Jawwal (Fr) (Wooded {Ire}), Lesslepasser (Fr) (Penny's Picnic {Ire}), Rogue Lightning (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}), Rayevka (Ire) (Blue Point {Ire}), Beautiful Diamond (GB) (Twilight Son {GB}), Mgheera (GB) (Zoustar {Aus}), Afjan (Fr) (Mehmas {Ire}).

TDN Analysis: Ed Walker trainee Mgheera won this last year, following up in Haydock's G2 Temple Stakes, and was not disgraced when unplaced in a trio of Group 1 events towards the end of 2025. The British challenge also features Tom Clover representative Rogue Lightning, who finished fourth in February's Dukhan Sprint Cup at Doha, and Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum's Beautiful Diamond, whose three black-type victories have all come at Ayr. The evergreen 2022 and 2024 winner Ponntos will head postward fresh off a win in Milan's Listed Premio Certosa two weeks ago, while TDN Rising Star Rayevka seeks a halt to her six-race losing streak. [Sean Cronin].

Sunday, Leopardstown, post time: 14:30, AL SHIRA'AA RACING 'MUTAMAKINA' STAKES-Listed, €42,000, 3yo/up, f/m, 7fT

Field: Princess Child (Fr) (Dariyan {Fr}), Snellen (Ire) (Expert Eye {GB}), California Dreamer (GB) (Mehmas {Ire}), Carla Ridge (Ire) (New Bay {GB}), City Of Memphis (Ire) (Sioux Nation), Duckadilly (Ire) (Churchill {Ire}), Fregada (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}), Mallavelly (Ire) (Siyouni {Fr}), Quebec (Ger) (Sea The Moon {Ger}), Signora (Ire) (Frankel {GB}).

TDN Analysis: Having finally broken her maiden at Limerick last time, Signora looks to continue Ballydoyle's May momentum as the sole three-year-old in the line-up. City Of Memphis remains unexposed, with her recent Gowran success her first outing since finishing fifth in last year's Irish 1,000 Guineas, while Carla Ridge reappears for the first time following her 10-length win in the Curragh's Listed Brigid's Pastures Stakes in October. [Tom Frary].

Sunday, Tokyo, Japan, post time: 15:40, NHK MILE CUP-G1, ¥283,100,000, 3yo, 1600mT

Field: Resort Island (Jpn) (Isla Bonita {Jpn}), Yu Pharoah (American Pharoah), Hornero (Jpn) (Satono Diamond {Jpn}), Cavallerizzo (Jpn) (Saturnalia {Jpn}), Ghillies' Ball (Jpn) (Epiphaneia {Jpn}), Gene King (Jpn) (Contrail {Jpn}), Diamond Knot (Jpn) (Bricks and Mortar), Lorbeerkranz (Jpn) (Satono Diamond {Jpn}), Thunderstruck (Jpn) (Lord Kanaloa {Jpn}), Ecoro Alba (Jpn) (Mozu Ascot), Admire Quads (Jpn) (Real Steel {Jpn}), Anduril (Jpn) (Saturnalia {Jpn}), Happy Angel (Jpn) (Jo Cappuccino {Jpn}), Valsecito (Jpn) (Kizuna {Jpn}), Reservation (Jpn) (Danon Premium {Jpn}), Ask Ikigomi (Jpn) (Lord Kanaloa {Jpn}), Rodeo Drive (Jpn) (Saturnalia {Jpn}), Fukuchan Sho (Jpn) (Isla Bonita {Jpn}).

TDN Analysis: Runner-up in last year's G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes, Diamond Knot appears to hold leading claims after getting back to winning ways in March's G3 Falcon Stakes at Chukyo. Ecoro Alba, who will be having his first start finishing fourth in the Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes, is another leading contender, along with G2 New Zealand Trophy second Rodeo Drive and Admire Quads. The latter finished third in the Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes and will be suited by the drop in trip after failing to stay in the G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2,000 Guineas). [Adam Houghton].
